The roofs of Carmona's churches and towers
Visit the Church of Santa Maria
a statelygothic church built over a former mosque whose elegant patio is preserved. Museum upstairswith Zurbarans, and inside chapel with a figure of Virgin S. Mada de Gracia, patroness of Carmona.
Visit the Museum of Carmona
Located in a large XVIIth C Palace, it presents an educacional history of Carmona starting at 3000 BC. Archeological finds, displays of the development of the walled city,and local XIXth C. paintings.
Have Tapas in the Plaza Abastos
Bars are dotted around town, along narrow streets that twist and turn past various palaces and churches.Stop at the Plaza de San Fernando or the Plaza de Abastos to enjoy some tapas.
Visit the Puerta de Sevilla
The Carthaginians layed it out in 9thC. BC with a heavy rectangular appearance and made it their bastion against the Romans, who once conquered, restored it with a set of gates which is still preserved

Visit the Necropolis Romana
Just outside town, on a low hill amid cypress and olive trees, wealthly romans buried their dead with the same grandness in which they lived. 900 family tombs remain, some have vestibules with stone benches for funeral banquets. Well worth a 30 min. visit.
Visit the Zoo of Carmona
If you come with children, taking them to the Zoo is a sure way to entertain them for an hour or two. Just 5 minutes outside Carmona, direction El Viso del Alcor.
Go Horse Riding in La Viña
A 3 minute drive from the Casa de Carmona is La Viña, an enchanting farm with a cottage where the Halcón family raise and train P.R.E. horses. An opportunity for a wonderful horse ride along the vega de Carmona.
