The exquisite Casa de Carmona , a noble 15th century palace
located in the picturesque town of Carmona, had fallen into sad disrepair
when purchased by Sra. Medina. It took five years plus many pesetas,
patience and love to restore this masterpiece to its original grandeur.
No expense was spared to bring every modern amenity, yet retain the authentic
character of days gone by. From the moment you step through the massive
wooden door into an inner courtyard, the magic begins. Wander through the
maze of secluded " secret " patios - your heart will be captivated.
Potted fruit trees, marble colonnades, fragant flowers , the singing
of birds and the gentle gurgling of fountains are entrancing. A romantic walled
patio with an exquisite formal garden features a picture- perfect swimming pool
fed by five fountains. Doña Marta Medina personally oversaw the interior design
and each with elegant, English-style fabrics and superb antiques. Each guestroom
has its own personality, yet mantains a similar look of refined elegance. One of
my favorites, rooms 23, has a romantic view of the rooftops of old Carmona
studded by many church steeples. As an added bonus, the Casa de Carmona has the
personal touch of a manager who truly cares - Doña Marta Medina´s personable
son, Felipe.
